Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining process that produces high-strength welds without melting the base material.

A rotating tool generates frictional heat and plastic material flow, allowing materials to mix and bond under controlled pressure. Because the material remains in the solid state, FSW minimizes welding defects commonly associated with fusion welding.

Compared with conventional welding processes, FSW offers lower heat input, reduced distortion, excellent mechanical properties, and highly consistent weld quality.

Typical applications include aluminum alloys, copper-aluminum joining, battery trays, liquid cooling plates, motor housings, and other demanding lightweight structures.
